Kitty Kitty!
Pretty Miss Lois is very fond of pets and will always take in a stray that comes to her door. Today, as she sat reading her book, she hear mew, mew, and a scratching noise outside. “What an odd looking Kitty you are!” she said when the visitor came in.
“Where in the world do you come from?” Even if Kitty could talk to Lois he could not tell her, for no one seems to know just where kitten come from. They are very old in the world.
Lois looked in her book for a picture she remembered and found that it was Mr. Jaguar, the largest and handsomest of American cats. She read on and the book said they were found in parts of Central and South America. The Jaguar is very large and powerful, and is known to the natives as “el tigre.” No little native girl would take in a “tigre” for a pet.
