Who was the maid on Scrabble Hill? You are about to find out.
This children’s activity page was originally printed in the Evening Star, Washington, D.C., July 16, 1922.
ONCE upon a time there lived a Maid on Scrabble Hill, and it is said that she may still live there. She grew and grew so tall that she could reach clear up to the sky. For miles and miles around all the children knew her and used to come and watch her hang clothes on the moon to dry. They never could find out what made her grow so tall, and some of them wondered if they would get so big.
One little boy climbed to the top of a tree to try to reach the moon.
To make the cut-out and see the maid hang the clothes on the moon, read the instructions printed on the page. Cut carefully and paste together.
