Bathing Suits and Ball Gowns Blamed for Divorces
“Bare arms and legs at the sea shore, undraped bosom and accentuation of sex in every possible way – these things lead to marriages which are not built on respect and wholesome love.”
Those are the cause of divorces, according to Evangelist “Bob” Jones, the 30-year-old Alabama preacher who “burned hell out of the south.”
The modern dances come in for their share of his denunciation. He says:
“The man who says he takes part in these modern dances with never an evil thought is one of these things:
“He is more than a man, less than a man, or a liar.”
