There is nothing quite like the fashions of the 1970s, especially when it came to their throw pillows. The photo and patterns below come from The Australian Women’s Weekly, June 2, 1976 and are exactly like the pillows my mother had on the black leather sofa in the rec room. They are bright, cheerful, and all around wonderful pillows that anyone can sew.
Of course, you don’t have to use the appliqué patterns on just the pillows. The flowers can be sewn on t-shirts, sweatshirts, summer dresses, and used for appliqué quilts.
Stick with the popular colors of the 1970s, particularly the oranges and yellows.
