The following Dorothy Dot paper doll cutout is Hilda of Sweden. She was originally published in the Evening Star in 1909.
Little girls would eagerly await each installment of the Dorothy Dot dolls published in the newspaper and would cut them out and play with them. To make the dolls last longer, they were glued onto thin cardboard, such as a cereal box, and then cut out. Crayons were used to add color to the doll’s dresses. [1]
