How to Make a Ballet Doll Double Pincushion From 1914

I believe that this is the third pincushion on Strange Ago that features a doll. One uses just a doll head, the second uses the top half of a doll, and then this one places a small, dancing ballerina doll on top of the pincushion.

Pretty Pincushion

Milady can always use a pincushion to advantage, but the one here illustrated would be especially suitable for the boudoir dressing table.

The cute little ballet dancer is executing a pas seul upon the heads of countless pins stuck thickly into a circular padded cushion, while over her head is an ornate canopy, utilized also for pins.

Another pincushion which any mother will appreciate is one for baby’s pins made by filling a tiny woolen or silk stocking with picked lamb’s wool. After stuffing the stocking, sew up the top and put a pretty bow of satin ribbon over it with a loop of ribbon to attach it to the side of the toilet basket.
