When I bought Skulls & Anatomy: Copyright Free Vintage Illustrations for Artists and Designers from off of Amazon, I knew I would use some of the images in woodcarving.
The wood is yellow pine.
The main carving tools are Flexcut Carving Tools.
The carving tools I use for finer detail are by Meeden.
After tracing the skull onto tracing paper, I used carbon paper to trace the skull onto the wood. Then I began to carve out the background. Next, I smoothed the edges, cut out the nose and eyes, and began shaping the skull.
