5 of the Best History Books About Giants

When studying the history of our ancestors it is always fun to take a break and dive into something unusual such as history books about giants.

This list includes four books about giants that I own plus a newer book (number 5) that I just added to my shopping cart. Whether you have your own suspicions about the existence of giants or you are a firm believer, these books are a great treat to add to your personal studies.

1. Forbidden Archaeology: The Hidden History of the Human Race by Michael A. Cremo

While I have always been intrigued with the notion of forbidden archaeology, I didn’t take it seriously until I bought Cremo’s authoritative book on the topic back in 2000.

Forbidden Archaeology takes time to read and fully digest. It’s unsettling to realize just how much we don’t know about our past and how much is being hidden from the public.

This is a must-have, life-changing book that should be in everyone’s bookcase.

2. Giants on Record: America’s Hidden History, Secrets in the Mounds and the Smithsonian Files by Jim Vieira and Hugh Newman

When I started reading the Library of Congress’s newspaper archives it didn’t take me long until I began finding reports of giant bones being found. I was amazed to read first-hand accounts of these strange finds. However, all too often the Smithsonian would arrive, debunk the bones, and whisk them away where they would never be seen again.

If you want to learn more about these North American findings, I highly recommend Giants on Records. It will save you the time it takes to hunt down these reports in American newspapers.

Witnesses of living giants, legends, and myths are also covered in this wonderfully thorough book.

3. The Encyclopedia of Ancient Giants in North America by Fritz Zimmerman

Explore the history of giants in North America.

Chapters include:

  • Mediterranean Amorite Coppers Traders in the Ohio Valley
  • Indian Legends of an Ancient Race of Giants
  • The Giants of the Ohio Valley
  • The Ancient Dwarfs and Fairies
  • Origins of the Giant Neanderthal Hybrids
  • Giant Neanderthal Hybrids in North America
  • Giants with Double Rows of Teeth
  • and more.

A great, exciting read that will make you a believer.

4. The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-up by Richard J. Dewhurst

If you were to go and read the unusual reports printed in the old newspapers, after a while you would begin to wonder what the Smithsonian did with all the artifacts and so-called archaeological hoaxes it claimed.

This book covers the findings of giants and the Smithsonian coverups. While some people may say that this is little more than a conspiracy theory, people have the right to ask what they took and what happened to those items that are part of America’s history.

5. The Giants of Stonehenge and Ancient Britain by Hugh Newman and Jim Vieira

From the writers of Giants on Record comes The Giants of Stonehenge. This book was recently published in 2021 and I do not have it. However, I have added it to my cart and can’t wait to read it. If it is anything like Giants on Record, it is going to be a great read.
