To introduce children, grades 5 to 6, to Classical Latin, Latin’s origins, basic pronunciations, history, and to provide exposure to Latin words and phrases.
The Introduction to Learning Classical Latin is a lesson plan I created for my daughter who wants to learn a little about the Latin language this year. It introduces the basics of Latin’s origins, the difference between Classical and Ecclesiastical Latin, pronunciations, and some history.
For homeschoolers, the lessons I created could count as social studies.
There are 15 days of lessons in the PDF with links to online webpages, videos, and Google Translate.
As a parent, it is your responsibility to go over the content of the lesson plans and decide what is appropriate for your child in your household. You may or may not want to make changes to the sources I used.
The lesson plans are secular (not religious).
