A ridiculous amount of headless bodies were found 100 years ago, and many heads were never recovered.

In this next report, the headless body of a man was discovered by clam diggers, and the whole affair was dismissed as a victim possibly murdered by bootleggers or the like.
Headless Body of Man Found by Clam Diggers
A man’s headless body, bullet riddled, was discovered on the beach at Pillar Point near Half Moon Bay yesterday by a party of local people engaged in clam digging, they reported to the sheriff.
The man apparently had been dead for some time according to information.
The sheriff expressed the opinion that the man might have been the victim of bootleggers or hi-jackers.
