How To Read Your Fortune In The Numbers Of Your Birth Date

ACCORDING to W. H. Evans, an English student of psychic phenomena, the figures appearing in one’s birth date have a very important influence on his or her life and character. Whether this be true or not, Mr. Evan’s theories offer a new, easy and very interesting way of telling fortunes. The first step is to study the significance of each of the different numbers.

One

Number one indicates creative ability and strong will power. It intensifies the influence of all the other numbers. Selfishness (sometimes described as a desire for number one) and pride are indicated by it, but it also reveals great strength of purpose on all planes and the power to overcome all obstacles in the way of self-development. When the number is repeated it indicates stubbornness. It is usually regarded as a fortunate number.

Two

Two is a number of change, of self-restraint and adaptability. It indicates some instability and a tendency to deceit. This, however, will depend on other numbers. It is a psychic number, and shows keen intuition. It tends to restrain the emotions and moderate the affections.

Three

Three is a number of expression, religion, philosophy, science and art. It indicates refining influences, originality and independence of thought. People whose ruling digit is three are comprehensive in their ideas and take truth wherever found.

Four

Four is a fortunate number. It is the symbol of matter, the cube being four sided. It indicates critical insight, good discernment, ability to drive a good bargain and love of this world. It indicated great dependence upon the objective mind and a desire to be logical and to prove things before accepting them. People dominated by four doubt inspiration and want to see and handle. It is essentially a physical number.

Five

Five indicates powerful emotions, restless energy and love of all things mystical. It indicates a reaching out for the hidden things of life; also aspiration and spiritual yearning, love of travel and a desire to see life; hastiness and a quick temper.

Six

Six is a mental number, and indicates love of metaphysical reasoning and a desire to get at the root of things and know all that can be known. It shows a mind keen and analytical, but open and receptive to inspiration.

Seven

Seven is generally considered a fortunate number and one that indicates strong religious influences. It indicates difficulties and reveals great aggressiveness of character. It generally takes away what number four gives, and has been called the number of sacrifice. It also shows a well stocked mind and a tendency to live in the past.

Eight

Eight is a psychic number, and as such indicates ability to function on that plane. It is a number of usefulness, progression and unselfishness. It also shows good linguistic ability and fine judgement.

Nine

Nine denotes an affable, sympathetic nature, tactful and just in all dealings. It indicates wisdom, stability and true worth.

Number nine people are nearly always found in positions of trust. It is a number which has to do with the mental spiritual life.

Mental, Psychic, Or Material

Three, six and nine are mental numbers; two, three and eight psychic or heart; and one, four and seven, material.

Your Ruling Number

To discover the number which rules any given birth date, take as an example a person born on June 23, 1861. Add together the number of the month, 6, the digits of the day, 2 and 3, and the last two figures of the year, 6 and 1. This gives a total of 18. Adding together the digits 1 and 8, we have nine, which is the person’s ruling number. In summing up his characteristics we must, however, consider not only the ruling number 9, but all the numbers used to obtain that total, as well as the numbers which are absent.

The person born on June 23, 1861, is chiefly ruled from the mental plane, because the numbers 3, 6 and 9 appear. Their total is 18, and adding the digits 1 and 8 together gives 9. The latter digit is a larger one than can be obtained by adding in similar fashion the psychic and the material numbers represented.

The appearance of 1 indicates that the personality is sufficiently strong to overcome any opposition. It shows a fair amount of personal magnetism. There is a quiet determination which will doubtless surprise many. There is also great earnestness, tact and gentleness. Once roused, he would rather enjoy a tussle.

There is no indication of being successful in the commercial world, the figures 4 and 7 being absent. The native will take most delight in mental pursuits of a higher and more spiritual nature. The number 6 being repeated, indicates that the mind is keen, discriminating and highly intuitive. Opinions once formed will be firmly held, and a love of justice will impel the native to somewhat imperil his own position in order to aid others.

There is considerable adaptability and resourcefulness (indicated by the number 2), but the emotional nature, while strong, is held firmly in check. It is certain the heart will never run away with the head.

The number 3 shows that art, science and philosophy will strongly appeal, and indicates good power of expression. In all reasoning there will be a desire to build upon a firm foundation. The imagination is active, and there is some disposition to day dreaming, which is, however, allied to a very practical outlook upon life.

On the whole, the person born on June 23, 1861, is well balanced (the digit or ruling number 9 indicates that). He has a sound judgement and a keen sense of justice and honor. The character is stable and firm, and his influence is helpful and inspiring to others.
