Psychic Detectives in the 1930s

Using psychics to solve crime is not a new idea. In fact, Scotland Yard began using psychic to solve cases since the early 1900s.

In a newspaper article published in 1937, Daily Mercury, a reporter claimed that psychics “could solve almost any crime.”

There was a demand for the abilities of people who could read minds and see into the past. There was even talk about setting up a training center for sensitive people so that they could actively help the police solve murders and other criminal acts.

Unfortunately, none of this came to pass, at least not to our knowing. There are and were far too many frauds in the trade, plus there were many people who felt that those who were sensitive to outside forces were somehow working with the devil or were aligned with witches. [1]
