Photographs have long been used in love magic and death spells. In fact, I’ve known many old timers who were very much against having their picture taken for fear of someone causing them harm.

An old form of love magic says to bury a photo of the one you love along with a bit of his/her hair and s/he will love you back.

2. Under the Pillow

Another old form of love magic that is prevalent in American and European folklore says to place a photo of the one you love under your pillow before you go to sleep and your love will be returned.

3. Fading Photo

Superstitions claims that when a person dies, their picture will begin to fade.

4. Death Wish

In folk magic, some believe that placing an enemy’s photograph in a coffin with another dead person will bring about the enemy’s death. The dead person will drag him down to hell for company.

5. Bad Luck Break

Breaking a camera or a mirror while taking a photograph will bring bad luck.

6. Dead Person in the Middle

If three people are photographed together, the person in the middle will die soon.

7. Newborn Photo

Taking a photograph of a newborn baby before it is a month old will bring bad luck to the baby.

8. Sleeping Pic

Photographing a person who is sleeping will bring bad luck to that person.

It is unlucky to keep a photograph of a deceased loved one facing the wall or upside down. It will upset the dead person.
