Did Not Want Cold Supper
Henry Berger, a bartender living at 174 West Third Street, was arrested by Officer Klima last evening on the charge of beating his wife.
As the policeman was passing the house he heard cried for help from the second floor of the building and hurriedly entering, found Berger abusing a woman, who was upon her knees begging for mercy.
An ugly contusion over the left eye showed where a blow from the husband’s fist had landed, while Mrs. Berger’s nose was bleeding freely.
The woman stated that the trouble grew out of her failure to have her husband’s supper ready soon enough to suit him when he came from work.
Berger will be arraigned in the police court today.
