Mother Watches Baby Die in Her Arms During Heat Wave

The summer heat had already done its damage by the time Susan Dodi reached the doctor’s office with her baby in her arms.

Her six-month-old daughter had been overcome by the heat, and the frightened mother carried the child to Dr. F. N. Benson in the hope that medicine might save her. Instead, Susan was forced to endure the most heartbreaking moment a parent could face.

Before the physician could help, the infant died in her mother’s arms.

Death in Heat Wave

Holding her six-months-old daughter in her arms to await the physician’s administration of medicine, Susan Dodi had the pitiful experience of seeing her daughter pass away in her arms.

The little child was overcome by heat and the mother seeing its precarious condition, took the infant in her arms and carried it to the office of Dr. F.N. Benson, to apply for the physician’s aid.

The child was, however, too far gone to be saved and she was taken to a morgue where the inquest was held this afternoon.
