Jack The Hugger Sprang Up In New Jersey

Here is a little article from out of New Jersey in 1922. A “Jack the Hugger” was springing out of a bush to hug random women. Maybe he was on a feel good kick or maybe he was just trying to cop feel.

A “Jack the Hugger” At Large In Jersey

Sunnyside Section of Weehawken Favored by Him for His Amatory Antics.

A “Jack the Hugger” is loose in Jersey.

A young man in natty attire spread alarm in the Sunnyside section of Weehawken a few days ago when he sprang from a clump of bushes upon a young woman. After embracing her he stepped back into the underbrush and disappeared. Yesterday he repeated the incident at the same spot with another young woman as the victim.

The police believe he is the same young man who, not long ago, was sought in West Hoboken for similar tactics.
