In the early 1900s, every gold hunter was on the lookout for the lost Dutchman’s mine. Most people believed that it was located in the Superstition Mountains, but this report places the lost mine in the Bradshaw Mountains.
Lost Dutchman Mine
Three Aitons, father and two sons, are reported to have found what was known the past fifty years as the “Lost Dutchman” mine in the Bradshaw mountains. While we are rather skeptical of the finding of the Lost Dutchman claim, if the new find is rich in gold it will do until the old discovery is really brought to light.
No matter whether a mine was once lost or not if it has the proper amount of dope in it it will pass for an antique or any other name that may have been given to a relic of the past.
The Lost Dutchman claim was said to have been located somewhere in the neighborhood of the head of the Santa Maria creek.
