Enjoy the wonders of autumn with Llewellyn’s Little Book of Halloween

Every year, from August 1st to about mid-November, I am filled with a renewed desire to learn about our magical world and its history.

When I was in “one of those moods, ” I stepped into the small local bookstore, Sellers Books. The place, and its owner, never fail to impress me.

As I looked over his piles of new books at the front of the store, my eyes fell upon Llewellyn’s Little Book of Halloween by Mickie Mueller. The small, hard-covered book begged me to take a look inside.

Within its pages, I found the history of Halloween, tips for decorating, simple recipes for the season, and, of course, Halloween spells.

Filled with lore and practical advice, this book deserved a spot on my already crowded bookshelves, and it came home with me.

As a historian, writer, and sometimes artist, I am always searching for a bit of light, inspirational reading, and this book falls into that category.

The mention of the Teal Pumpkin Project was most surprising (and exciting!). The Teal Pumpkin Project aims to educate people about children with food allergies and encourages people to set aside non-food items to hand out to children on trick-or-treat nights.

As Halloween draws closer, I take a moment to read about hosting a seance.

I dust off my ouija board after reading “The Misunderstood Ouija Board” on page 197.

It’s time to get back in touch with my inner and more magical self.

It is going to be an exciting Samhain!

You can find Llewellyn’s Little Book of Halloween by Mickie Mueller on Amazon.com and on Lewellyn’s website.
