Strange silver ball witnessed in sky over Marysville, Ohio, 1950

As unidentified objects continue to be witnessed and occasionally shot out of the sky, I decided to dig a little more into strange objects witnessed in the sky from the newspaper archives.

Here is an interesting report from out of Ohio of a silver ball in the sky.

Strange Object Seen in Marysville Sky Friday Morning

Mrs. Louis P. Rausch and her grandson, David Creviston, spotted a strange object in the sky over Marysville about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, it was reported this morning.

“It was very high and traveling at a great rate of speed,” Mrs. Rausch said. “David spotted it when he was trying to watch some birds flying past.”

Mrs. Rausch described it as appearing like a gray, round ball, about six inches in diameter.

“It was not a flying saucer,” she added, “but neither was it an airplane or any other object I ever saw.”

Two National Guard officers in Ashtabula reported seeing a similar object, Friday, and Mrs. Rausch believes she and her grandson saw the same thing.

A newspaper report from Ashtabula quoted the officers as saying it looked like a silver Christmas tree ornament.
