Jersey Devil kills over 30 pigs in Pennsylvania

The Jersey Devil has visited Pennsylvania numerous times in the past. In this case, 1916, it has killed over 30 pigs and was on the hunt for more.

“Jersey Devil” Still Prowls

RYDAL, Pa., April 18, 1916 — The old York road, “Jersey Devil,” the mysterious night raider that killed 30 pigs in suburban estates, has been trying to raid more pens in this section.

This animal, whatever it is, has created much discussion hereabouts.

Some say it is a bear, others that it is a much more desperate animal.

Traps have been laid for it, but whatever the midnight intruder is it keeps shy of being captured.

Many people fear to venture out after dark.
